Every Company must establish Objectives for the firm, communicate them to the team, and measure/monitor them constantly.

Every employee must understand the company’s Objectives and know clearly how they can contribute to achieving them. Their performance should be monitored towards these objectives.

For most staff members the key question is “what’s in it for me?” – once they understand how company growth impacts them they always ask “how can I help?”

A starting point for agency principals is setting the high level objectives – these will go a long way to helping you recruit/retain talent and grow:

We have discussed in the past how every agency should establish Objectives that can be measured, that are not subjective. They should have a number, a percentage, a date associated. Objectives should include financial, operations, organization, business development, etc.
